If you operate or manage commercial or residential properties taking a couple of hours each quarter inspecting for unsafe conditions is a great idea. This simple step will/can save you from major headaches.
Where to look. Look at electrical and boiler rooms, walk hallways, outside parking areas and walking surfaces.
What to look for. Loose or bare wires, exposed wires, leaking pipes, make sure the boiler/heating systems are inspected annually by a heating specialist. Sidewalk’s need be clear of bushes and tree limbs that may contact a pedestrian walking. Look for open light bulb sockets, missing/broken outlet or switch plate covers.
By simply looking you will see conditions that need repair. Keep your tenants safe. Simply look.
