Safety training-When does OSHA require?
When should you conduct safety training to your crews? Any time there is a workplace hazard present. Some common hazards requiring training include forklift operation, fall protection/working at height, hazardous chemical exposure, working around machines (guarding), scaffolding, steel erection, and confined spaces, just to name a few.
If your crews encounter any of the above OSHA requires they be trained. There is an excellent guide from OSHA, Publication 2254, which outlines all the topics you need to provide training for when encountering the hazards listed in this publication.
This publication also lists the elements of each topic which need to be covered in such training. Go to https://www.osha.gov/Publications/osha2254.pdf to see this OSHA list. You will find it most helpful.
